Tutors

September 2011:

We are currently looking to extend our existing tutor pool as well as the range of courses on offer for 2012.

Risingholme Community Centre provides a structured, flexible and varied programme of short courses during school terms, in a range of venues across the city. Courses are offered with explicit course content, planning for gaining literacy and numeracy skills and are tailored to specific learners and their needs.

Risingholme Community Centre employs a range of people with great skills to tutor our courses. We are looking for talented, emphathetic and inspirational tutors to deliver courses for adults.

We are funded to provide a range of classes in English language (including ESOL), New Zealand Sign Language, Te Reo Maori as well as programmes focussing on literacy and numeracy as well as digital literacy.

We are particularly looking to extend our pool of Te Reo Maori tutors as well as Italian Language tutors, but are also interested in any other course proposal especially as skills focussing on literacy and numeracy can be taught in a variety of contexts or topics.

If you have a great idea for a course and you are interested in joining our tutor pool, do contact us and send the following information:

- your resume including relevant experience and qualifications
- a short course proposal
- your availability to teach.

If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please send us your resume and a short course proposal.  Email to info@risingholme.org.nz

Community organisations
We work in a collaborative way with a range of other ACE providers.  Each year a percentage of our funding is passed on to wide range of  community groups offering ACE opportunities which are complementary to the programmes we administer directly.

This year, again we have some funding available for community organisations providing learning opportunities for adults. Contact us if you would like details of how to apply for this funding. Preference given to groups providing ESOL, Te Reo Maori and/or NZ Sign Language and digital literacy. Courses must be for New Zealand residents.
