Amanda Hoffman

Amanda was born and bred in Christchurch, and then started her Arts career 35 years ago in Dunedin.

Knowing at high school that being creative was intrinsic, Amanda moved to Dunedin to Study Pottery for two years, gaining an ‘Advanced Certificate in Ceramics’ and then completed a ‘Bachelor of Fine Arts’ in Printmaking and Textiles, both At Otago School of Art.

Amanda has enjoyed a successful art making journey, running a studio supporting local artists, to making and selling, to exhibiting and participating in fundraising events within the local community and across New Zealand.

In 2012, Amanda completed a ‘Diploma in Person Centred Counselling’ at Vision College in Christchurch. After working in this area over the Canterbury earthquakes, she has found herself bringing together her passion for working in a person centred way to teaching at Risingholme learning since 2017.

Amanda is currently Tutoring in printmaking, paper making, upcycling furniture, and drawing and pottery courses at Risingholme.
