Have you got a secret tale to tell? A poem you’ve wanted to expand on & colour in? Do you have delicious recipes that need illustrations? Or a short story of a family dog, cat & their calamities…?
This workshop is aimed at people who have any of the above and many other tales… Exploring how to translate our narrative, story or words into pictures that we hand draw. After discussing our tales as a group, we will sketch illustrations that sit hand in hand with our words, subject and ideas. We will develop the characters or objects that harmoniously tell the context in the visual. Working frame by frame into a short tale.
You will create your visual story via various exercises, tips and using the French ‘aux trois crayon’ style to bring varying colours into the mix. All the sketched work will be done in class so students if they desire can continue into a paint/other medium at home.
This is hand drawing illustrations with no technology but frame by frame story telling produced solely by yourself.
