Join ‘Santa’s workshop’ and have a go at making some Christmas crafts at the Garden City Mākete this December 6.
We are thrilled to be partnering with The Garden City Mākete team again, this time for their Christmas market. Following the launch of Risingholme’s 2026 course programme on December 1, the market is the perfect chance to see what’s on offer and chat with Risingholme staff and tutors who can answer all of your course questions.
Risingholme will also be running workshops and demonstrations throughout the day from 1-5pm. These free drop-in sessions are a great way to get a taste for some of Risingholme’s courses and are specially curated to match the festive season. Watch a live pottery throwing demonstration and get into the holiday spirit with card-making, patchwork, sketching, and Zentangle workshops. Visit the market to get your Christmas shopping done then pop into a workshop and treat yourself to learning something new – it’s just like Santa’s workshop except you get to keep the gifts you make!

The Garden City Mākete is Christchurch’s biggest Christmas market and brings together over 200 incredible makers and small businesses from across Aotearoa.
