Dirk Goetze

My lifelong passion for trees in pots deepened after moving to New Zealand. My background in horticulture underpins my success in cultivating happy, healthy, beautiful Bonsai. In 2017, I formally ventured into Bonsai, transforming rescued trees into living art. I’ve been studying and practicing Bonsai and Penjing intensely ever since.

 “I am sacrificing everything for the dream, my life is Bonsai.” My dedication was recognized with the Colin Churchill Trophy – Premier Bonsai, Best Tree in show, 2023 NZ National Bonsai Convention, honored by David de Groot.

Since 2023 I have been hosting engaging Bonsai Workshops for beginners and intermediate enthusiasts, and I am actively teaching the art of Bonsai.

My mission is to make Bonsai accessible to everyone, fostering community engagement and sharing the joy of practicing this marvelous art form.
