Learners will take part in this 8-week beginners hand building course designed with fixed projects to explore the main ways of creating and decorating in ceramics/clay. During this course learners will receive a good basic technical grounding in ceramic practices and discover how to use their own design inspirations using the tools and materials provided.
Each term will have different and diverse projects planned allowing learners to enrol in more than 1 term to enhance their skills.
No previous pottery experience needed. This will be all hand building no wheel work involved.
Pottery has many chemicals and materials that are hazardous – so if you are either pregnant or health impaired, you need to let your tutor know so that she can advise you on best practice.
The course fee includes materials (clay, slip, glaze and firing) for items made as per the course curriculum.
