Pattern Drafting Beginners Workshop

In this course you will be guided through the patternmaking process to create a basic sewing pattern.  Learn key principles of making a sewing pattern.  Bring to class patternmaking equipment as required in the equipment list.  The tutor will supply standard base blocks and paper for pattern development.  At the end of the day, take home your basic sewing pattern and start your next sewing project.

To help keep the cost of this course down we receive Government Funding and they require proof of residency/citizenship status.  When you enrol you may be asked to provide a CERTIFIED copy of your Identity Documentation – click here for a full list of accepted IDocs.

About your tutor

Donna has studied and worked in the fashion industry for many years moving into tertiary education eleven years ago. Starting as a patternmaking tutor she worked her way up to Programme Coordinator/Leader within the fashion department. Donna has a post graduate diploma in Tertiary Education and a Diploma of Fashion Design & Technology Level 7. While patternmaking is her core skill, passion, and strength, she has also taught the academic subjects of textiles and design development. She has been delivering patternmaking lessons and workshops in the community for about two years and enjoys helping people to create their own personalised designs and garments. The fun, relaxed and informative atmosphere is very rewarding. Donna is a mum of three adult children and many moko (yes, double digits).
