Oreen brings a love of people, culture, and creativity to her teaching. Having lived and learned across different parts of the world, she’s gathered stories, skills, and perspectives that continue to shape and enrich how she makes and shares her work. She is a local maker, who lives and works out of her home studio amidst the beautiful rural plains of Canterbury and enjoys being surrounded by nature and birdsong.
Oreen is deeply passionate about making and teaching, and she believes creativity should feel welcoming, practical, and achievable. Through her teaching, she hopes to break the false notion that making beautiful things is complicated or expensive. Be it in the kitchen making Indian recipes or in her studio making sustainable fashion designs, Oreen brings her amazing creations to life in ways that learners can quickly replicate. She supports learners to try things for themselves and put their own spin on what they are learning. Oreen’s joy for creating and sharing is genuine, generous, and wonderfully contagious, and she looks forward to welcoming you in her courses.
