Terryn Agnew

Terryn is a natural New Zealand Sign Language fluent user and she is also deaf, so has an amazing amount of knowledge. She has been teaching New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) as a NZSL tutor for over 3 years and teaches level 1a and 1b at this stage. To extend her NZSL reach, Terryn is currently studying towards her Deaf Studies at Victoria University in Wellington to become a qualified NZSL tutor able to teach more and to higher levels.

Terryn’s interests and passions include spending time with her family, going to the gym, walking her dog, baking, and of course teaching NZSL! She originally comes from the North Island, is a hairdresser by trade, and lives in Christchurch with her Deaf husband and their children who are CODA (Children of Deaf Adult). Terryn loves meeting new people and teaching them about the Deaf Culture, our language – NZSL. Terryn loves helping and seeing them gain their confidence using NZSL.
