Have a Go at Patchwork

Details

  • Date: Tuesday 20 August 2024
  • Time: 1.30 - 3.00 pm
  • Location: Risingholme
  • Tutor: Ruth Marshall

Learn “What is patchwork?” and take home a piece of your own making.

Have fun with colour and design as you choose pieces of cotton fabric to cut, join and handsew into a heart pattern onto a background to make a singular piece or part of a table runner.

You will be shown the three layers of a quilt, a template, how to cut pieces, basting (tacking), different stiches such as English piece wedges and Applique onto the background.

Participants will be given an original design by Ruth, their tutor, of how to make a table runner at home or enrol in one of our Patchwork and Quilting courses to complete it.
