Risingholme Community Centre provides a structured, flexible and varied programme of short courses during school terms, in a range of venues across the city. Courses are offered with explicit course content, planning for gaining literacy and numeracy skills and are tailored to specific learners and their needs.
We are funded to provide a range of classes in English language (including ESOL), New Zealand Sign Language, Te Reo Maori as well as programmes focussing on literacy and numeracy as well as digital literacy.
We are always looking to extend our existing tutor pool as well as the range of courses on offer. If you have a great idea for a course and you are interested in joining our tutor pool, please click here for more information.

We work in a collaborative way with a range of other ACE providers. Each year a percentage of our funding is passed on to a wide range of community groups offering ACE opportunities which are complementary to the programmes we administer directly.
This year, again we have some funding available for community organisations providing learning opportunities for adults. Contact us if you would like details of how to apply for this funding. Preference given to groups providing ESOL, Te Reo Maori and/or NZ Sign Language and digital literacy. Courses must be for New Zealand residents.
