This course is best suited to learners who have attended another patternmaking course eg skirt, trouser or garment copy and have some beginner experience in patternmaking and ideas regarding the type of project/learning they would like to complete.
This course is suitable to people who have some pattern making knowledge. It aims to support and encourage you to advance in your pattern making abilities to create your own designs.
You will need to purchase sewing supplies and materials, prices could range between $50-$100+ depending on what you already have.
You will be well on your way to becoming a fashion designer! Styling, colour, trends and fit are the key. This is the fun part of creating your own fashion!!

Donna has studied and worked in the fashion industry for many years moving into tertiary education eleven years ago. Starting as a patternmaking tutor she worked her way up to Programme Coordinator/Leader within the fashion department. Donna has a post graduate diploma in Tertiary Education and a Diploma of Fashion Design & Technology Level 7. While patternmaking is her core skill, passion, and strength, she has also taught the academic subjects of textiles and design development. She has been delivering patternmaking lessons and workshops in the community for about two years and enjoys helping people to create their own personalised designs and garments. The fun, relaxed and informative atmosphere is very rewarding. Donna is a mum of three adult children and many moko (yes, double digits).
