The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being.
This class is being offered by Ildica, a Certified Zentangle Tutor (CZT), and will provide a taste of the background in the history of the Zentangle Method, introduce them to the basics steps of the method, various tangles, techniques, associated vocabulary and tools used which, as a CZT, Ildica has learnt direct from its creators Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.
The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over the world, across a wide range of skills, interests and ages. Based on the belief that life is an art form, our Zentangle Method is an elegant metaphor for deliberate artistry in life.
Students will be immersed in creating actual Zentangle tiles, with materials provided to get you up and running in your practice, providing you with some knowledge and materials to keep you going afterwards. You will leave with a clear understanding that “Anything is possible one stroke at a time”.®
There is an additional material cost of $15, in cash, to be given to the tutor in the class - this covers all the materials you will need for the two hours and will give you materials to carry on afterwards – if you want to build your Zentangle practise beyond the class.

Ildica has a passion for patterns. Whether in fabric, paper or other mediums she loves the look of a wandering line or two, colours and shapes. Weaving for many years, teaching workshops and lecturing in schools, kindergartens and polytechnics. When I found Zentangle it was a (more) portable method of pattern concepts and design, and just suited and complimented the weaving perfectly. Ildica has a BA(hons) in Textile Design, CZT qualification, and has completed her NZQA Certificate of Adult and Community Education. She adores passing on this knowledge, and it’s fun to teach, and watch others grow alongside yourself, and Zentangle is such a lovely medium to creatively blossom with a pen.
