NZ Sign Language Level 3a

NZ Sign Language is the language used by people within in the Deaf Community.  You will gain a general understanding of the Deaf Community and their culture, identity and sign language.  The tutor is deaf.

Level 3 is offered at a range of levels, designed for students to follow from one to the next.  Course content is indicative and will depend on each group of students’ ability.  As with all languages, your willingness to practice given exercises at home will greatly influence your success and enjoyment of the language.

For you to enrol in Level 3, you need to have completed all 4 Level 1 classes and all 4 level 2 classes, or have equivalent knowledge and have at least completed Level 2d.  This course is designed to lead on from the level 2 d course.

Level 3a
The course is suitable for those who have recently completed Level 2d. Course content is indicative but may include how to narrate unforgettable moments and sharing interesting facts.  The course information sheet will have more detailed information.  Students are welcome to request this prior to enrolling.

 No classes on public holidays.

All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Please check your emails regularly. Courses are usually confirmed or cancelled 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.

NB: Only a paid enrolment secures a place in a class.

In most cases classes will be taught by the tutor named in the brochure/website on the dates stated. We make every effort to make our programme as accurate as possible at the time of printing. We do, however, reserve the right to make any changes that may be necessary. This includes changes to day, time, venue and tutor.

 

Refund Policy

Cancellation by us

We may, regretfully, have to cancel courses if we do not receive enough enrolments, in which case you will get a full refund.
We may choose to close a course if there is a high level of non-attendance or withdrawals, in which case a proportional refund may be made.

Cancellation due to extreme weather or Tutor illness

Wherever possible, we will offer replacement or extended sessions to make up for sessions cancelled due to extreme weather, tutor illness or other unforeseen reason.

Cancellation by the learner

If you need to withdraw from a course and you inform us in writing, at least a week before the course is due to start, you will be eligible for a refund minus a $20 administration charge.

If you withdraw from a course at any other time, you will not be eligible for a refund. No refunds are given after commencement of a course to ensure course viability.
