In this course you will learn how to draft the Pattern Block to your own measurements. We will then develop garment patterns from theses blocks. You will learn how to draft design features such as pockets, waist and hip bands, facings and other features to create your own designs.

Term 4 - How to draft a Trouser Block
This is a beginner’s class - however it can also be used as a refresher course for people that have previously done Pattern Drafting.
You will need to purchase sewing supplies and materials, prices could range between $50-$100 depending on what you already have.
You will be well on your way to becoming a fashion designer! Styling, colour, trends and fit are the key. This is the fun part of creating your own fashion!!

Donna has studied and worked in the fashion industry for many years moving into tertiary education eleven years ago. Starting as a patternmaking tutor she worked her way up to Programme Coordinator/Leader within the fashion department. Donna has a post graduate diploma in Tertiary Education and a Diploma of Fashion Design & Technology Level 7. While patternmaking is her core skill, passion, and strength, she has also taught the academic subjects of textiles and design development. She has been delivering patternmaking lessons and workshops in the community for about two years and enjoys helping people to create their own personalised designs and garments. The fun, relaxed and informative atmosphere is very rewarding. Donna is a mum of three adult children and many moko (yes, double digits).

No classes on public holidays.
All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Please check your emails regularly. Courses are usually confirmed or cancelled 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
We may, regretfully, have to cancel courses if we do not receive enough enrolments, in which case you will get a full refund.
We may choose to close a course if there is a high level of non-attendance or withdrawals, in which case a proportional refund may be made.
Wherever possible, we will offer replacement or extended sessions to make up for sessions cancelled/postponed/suspended due to extreme weather, tutor illness or other unforeseen reason.
If you need to withdraw from a course and you inform us in writing, at least a week before the course is due to start, you will be eligible for a refund minus a $20 administration charge.
If you withdraw from a course at any other time, you will not be eligible for a refund. No refunds are given after commencement of a course to ensure course viability.
