Fabric & Craft Skills Monday 10am
Come along and see what you can do with a sewing machine, an overlocker, a needle and thread, some fabulous ideas and enjoyable company. A chance to make garments of your choice with everyone working on individual projects. In this group we make both children’s and adults’ clothing, we do sewing repairs and problem solving, make drapes and cushions, basic tailoring and how to adjust patterns to fit properly. Come and join our enthusiastic and friendly group.
This class will have a mixture of beginners, who know how to thread a sewing machine without assistance, to more advanced students.

After leaving school, Carolyn attended the Home Science School at Otago University specialising in clothing. From there, she attended the Home Economics Division of Training College in Christchurch. She has taught both Foods and Clothing at several schools in Christchurch through the years and has taught Dressmaking related classes at Risingholme Community Centre for well over 20 years. In September 2017 Carolyn was awarded a certificate for “Exceptional Adult Educator” for her services to Adult Education.
