Students who have attended Pottery Beginners for at around 2-3 terms will find this class a good step to extend their pottery skills.
Intermediate learners will take part in this 8 week program designed with fixed projects to explore and extend main ways of making and decorating in ceramics. During this course students will continue to develop their technical grounding while applying their own design inspirations. Each term will have a different theme and costs, over and above the course fee and glaze and firing costs, will depend on what is being made.
Term 1 – will focus on mold making
Over the eight week block design and build a set of molds to use in pottery practice. Learn how to make and use both bisque and plaster molds and explore a variety of ways to use the molds to create both functional wares and unique ceramic art. Approx cost for Term 1 materials will be $20.00 for specific items needed for term 1.
Students are expected to provide their own tools, materials, and clay - see course information sheet for details about each terms requirements. The cost of glazes and firing is additional to the course fee and will be paid to the tutor as necessary.
The estimated cost of glazing and firing each term is $20-$40 depending on the terms project/s.
Pottery has many chemicals and materials that are hazardous – so if you are either pregnant or health impaired, you need to let your tutor know so that she can advise you on best practice.

No classes on public holidays.
All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Please check your emails regularly. Courses are usually confirmed or cancelled 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
We may, regretfully, have to cancel courses if we do not receive enough enrolments, in which case you will get a full refund.
We may choose to close a course if there is a high level of non-attendance or withdrawals, in which case a proportional refund may be made.
Wherever possible, we will offer replacement or extended sessions to make up for sessions cancelled/postponed/suspended due to extreme weather, tutor illness or other unforeseen reason.
If you need to withdraw from a course and you inform us in writing, at least a week before the course is due to start, you will be eligible for a refund minus a $20 administration charge.
If you withdraw from a course at any other time, you will not be eligible for a refund. No refunds are given after commencement of a course to ensure course viability.
