A brief but comprehensive introduction to organising a volunteer programme or project.  Course includes definition of Volunteering, Why involve Volunteers; Policy, Plan and Budget, Role Descriptions, Recruitment, Selection, Motivation, Training, Supervision, Recognition and the services of Volunteering Canterbury.

An introduction to oral history methodology.  How to plan an oral history interview, choose recording equipment, achieve clear audio recordings, select informants, develop questioning techniques, process oral history and make available for use. FURTHER STEPS IN ORAL HISTORY

A course for anyone who has completed an oral history course and would like to sharpen their skills further.  Content may include peer critique of interviewing and interview file.  Sharing of styles, resources and learning.  The day could also include content on digital skills for completion of oral history – Content will cater to what digital equipment resources are available to group for the session.
