In most cases classes will be taught by the tutor named in the brochure/website on the dates stated. We make every effort to make our programme as accurate as possible at the time of printing. We do, however, reserve the right to make any changes that may be necessary.

Refund Policy
1. If a class does not commence due to insufficient enrolments, fees will be refunded fully.
2. A refund less $20 administration fee will be given if a student withdraws within one week prior to course commencement.
3. As many of our courses are run on a self-funded basis, it means that your enrolment may have helped to get a
course started. Therefore NO refunds given on the day of course commencement and after course commencement.
A certificate of attendance is available to those students who attend 80% of their course.

Course content will also cover topics such as looking for appropriate work on the Internet and using email, Seek, TradeMe jobs, cover letters; how to respond to advertisements; Excel basics and Introduction to Access

USING YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA Risingholme
An introduction to digital cameras and digital photography for those who are about to, or just have, embarked on the digital photography journey. No previous photographic experience is required and you don’t have to be a computer user. Those students who have a digital camera should bring it to the first class and subsequent classes. Students will need to spend between $20 and $30 during the course on prints from digital labs around the city. (limited spaces available)

COMPUTING – Building your confidence St Stephen's Community Centre
This course aims to provide students with lifelong skills through computer literacy and numeracy. Classes are small, informal and friendly; so there is lots of time for individual help. Topics will include Internet, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, providing access to business software. The course will be tailored to suit the needs and interests of the group.

MS Word 6.30 – 7.30pm
MS Excel 7.30 – 8.30pm
In a small class build on your existing computer knowledge to increase your skills in MS Office. You’ll learn short cuts and handy tips to help you work more efficiently at home or in the office. From 6.30 –7.30 pm the focus is on MS Word. From 7.30 – 8.30 pm the focus will be on spread sheeting skills using MS Excel. Enrol in both classes for $105. Maximum 10 students

INTRODUCTION TO WEBSITE DESIGN Riccarton High
Create your own family or small business website. Using HTML you will require only notepad and your browser to create your website. The course also includes an introduction to CSS and JavaScript as well as how to upload your site onto the web and submit to search engines.

This course includes an introduction to JavaScript and CSS, uploading your site to the web and submitting to search engines. WEBSITE DESIGN Intermediate Riccarton High
Made a website which is not quite what you hoped it would be? This course looks at ways of using JavaScript and CSS in combination with HTML to both improve the look of your website and to make it do things it does not currently do. Assumes a basic understanding of HTML, but you don’t need to already have a website.

In this intermediate class the focus is on reinforcing what you already know and building your confidence with web design. Students need to have completed a Beginners class or have other appropriate experience.

PHOTOSHOP Riccarton High
Adobe Photoshop is the “industry standard” software programme used to enhance and manipulate digital images and photos. This vast programme is easily used by beginning students with a few hours of instruction and support. Absolutely everything you need to know to get started on your digital project. Past students rave about this course! Students should be familiar with PC and Windows. Bring own lunch and a USB stick/pen drive.

Learn digital image manipulation to create great family photos, postcards and cards. Use your own photos or magazine pictures of your choice. Course covers the use of the selection tools, retouching and modifying images. Course uses Photoshop software but principles apply to other software.

PHOTOMONTAGE – SALLY MASON Riccarton High
Learn the art of blending together a series of photographs to create a visual story - of a place, a family, a special occasion. This is a great way to portray a family, a special occasion, a holiday. Create your own montage travel album. No special photographic skills or equipment required. Printing costs for your photos involved, and students will need to purchase basic materials required.
